Today I found my kindergarten report card. It is 30 years old.
Here are the comments from January and June 1978:
"J is a bright intelligent child whose work is excellent. Two suggestions - to show more drive and be able to accept criticism as a way to learn." (The underlines are the teacher's not mine)
"J has been a delight to have had in class. She has gained in all areas, including my earlier suggestions. I would hope those would be the area in which she will continue to grow. It has been a pleasure."
It is so refreshing to hear nice things about yourself. I can now accept criticism without crying. But, I still have little drive. I have decided to blame my parents. Under the "Parent Commets" section there is nothing. They were sweet and loving parents who needed a fire lit under their asses!

Kindergarteners aren't supposed to have drive. They're supposed to bash other kindergarteners with blocks and go to bed at 7:30.
You sound like you were a delightful child!
